Effective Parenting Online Support Groups
The National Center for Biblical Parenting offers
closed email Effective Parenting Support Groups. These groups
provide you with a support system as you grow in your parenting
and find solutions for working with your kids. You'll be able
to post prayer requests, get advice from other parents, discuss
child related and parenting issues, and offer and receive encouragement
from other parents.
Parents need answers but are also greatly encouraged
when they hear other people's challenges and struggles, especially
when progress and breakthroughs occur. You'll find this group
an integral part of your life and a great source of strength
as you engage in the toughest job in the world – parenting.
The group is a closed group, only allowing people
into the group who have been authorized. A moderator oversees
the group to make sure people feel welcome and that members follow
the guidelines.
Here's how it works:
First choose the group you'd like to join:
1 • Infant/Toddler Group
2 • Preschool Group
3 • Elementary Age Group
4 • Teen Group
5 • Parents of Kids with Special Needs
6 • Single Parents
Read the Guidelines
for Groups and the How
to Be a Good Group Member pages to make sure that you understand
and agree with what the group is all about. By joining the
group you are agreeing to the guidelines described on these
pages.
Next, register with the National Center for Biblical
Parenting. You can purchase your membership for one year right
here on the web. The cost is $25 per year. You must sign up with
the email address you'll use for the group.
As soon as the moderator makes you active you will
begin receiving emails from the group. You may hit reply to any
email to send your message to the group and begin interacting.
Keep in mind that you're entering a group in process and may
not understand what people are talking about at first. It won't
take long though, before you get up to speed with the rest of
the group since new topics are introduced on a regular basis.
It's that easy.
