Presenter/Mentor Leadership Training

Who is invited?

• Presenters are required to attend this 21-hour training event, discussion and teaching will be especially geared toward them.
• Mentors are encouraged but not required to attend. Breakout sessions will provide mentors with opportunities for special mentor-related dialogue.
• Any parent interested in growing deeper in their biblical and practical knowledge of parenting.

What is covered in this training?

Sixteen hours of biblical, practical training, equipping you to develop a heart-based approach to parenting, followed by an actual parenting seminar conducted by Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller, RN, BSN. Topics will include:

• What does it mean to be biblical?
• How can you give specific, hands-on tools when all children are different?
  
• What are the key elements that make the Parenting is Heart Work seminar effective?
  
• What is the biblical foundation for correction and how can we apply that to parenting?
  
• How does a good instruction routine guide parents to develop heart qualities in kids?
  
• How can we help parents change so that their kids will change in positive ways?
  

We will also spend time anticipating questions parents will ask regarding the Parenting is Heart Work curriculum.

By the time the training is done Presenters will have the tools they need to teach the Cooperation, Consequences, and Keeping Your Sanity seminar. Mentors will have a deeper understanding of what makes this material effective in the lives of parents and know how to go about working with others.

What is not covered in this training?

• Public speaking skills
  
• Counseling skills such as how to conduct a session

Although all attendees will have opportunity to ask questions, this is not an intensive counseling time for any one family.

Cost

$595 per person
Spouse - $100 (Spouses are encouraged to come)

This fee includes your registration, all materials needed, and lunch each day. You need to make your own arrangements for travel, lodging, and other meals.
