Good News: You Don't
have to be an Expert to Start an Effective Parenting Support
Group
You
can start an Effective Parenting Support Group in your
area. These groups are a great way to help parents
in your church grow in their parenting, and an excellent
way to reach out to hurting parents in your community.
One of the greatest benefits, however, is for those
who lead and organize the group. As you help others
in their parenting you will grow yourself in ways that
you hadn't imagined. Learn More

Here's what you need to do to start an
Effective Parenting Support Group.
- Purchase the Effective Parenting
Support Group Leader's Guide ($10.95) and receive
step-by-step instructions for starting, running,
and managing an Effective Parenting Support Group.
Also included is a special section on "How to Help Parents Who
Feel Overwhelmed." This manual also contains the
application form needed when applying to become an
Effective Parenting Support Group.
- Submit the application and $40 application
fee along with the signed Statement of Faith. When
approved, you will receive a confirmation number.
- Determine what your group will look
like by answering a few questions.
- Choose a start date and begin publicizing
using the suggestions and resources in the Effective
Parenting Leader's Guide.
Also, to keep all group members on track
with the discussion, get the EPSG
Participant Guide ($2.95), which gives suggestions
for participants to know how to help solve parenting
problems from a biblical perspective. The booklet also
helps participants know what an EPSG is and the expectations
of a participant.
